Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar-Bida, Chairman, New Niger Development Project (NNDP), says Gov. Umar Bago of Niger is addressing the challenge of infrastructure deficit facing the state over five decades.
The chairman stated this in an interview in Minna on Monday.
He said that Bago was making positive efforts towards improving on the standard of living of the people of the state.
Abubakar-Bida said that the Bago-led administration has embarked on the construction of 1,000km road network across the state to boost socio-economic activities.
“This is to boost agriculture, the revenue base and the socio-economic activities of our people,” he said.
He appreciated the governor for establishing NNDP which is aimed at ensuring speedy development of the state.
“New Niger Development Project is a structure that was actually created to coordinate new Niger agenda.
“We want to depart from the past. We want to see that within the shortest possible time, we impact positively on the lives of our people,”he said.
He said that the administration has adopted a different approach of handling projects for the overall development of the state.
“When you put the right infrastructure in place it will give you the right development,”he said.
The chairman expressed optimism that the massive construction of road network in the state would attract more investors to the state.
He called on the people of the state to continue to give their maximum support to Bago to succeed in delivering democracy dividends to them.
