“•••••steps down the budget assessment of the State Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment over vague documents.

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly  Committee on Capital Market, Commerce and Industry, has commended the Director General of the Nasarawa State Market Management Bureau, Dr. Yakubu Ahmed Ubangari for ensuring market development in the state.

Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa’ad, the Chairman of the Committee gave the commendation when the management of the Bureau appeared before the committee on its 2024 budget performance on Tuesday in Lafia.

He assured of the committee’s readiness to support the bureau to succeed.

” You are doing good and we want you to sustain the tempo” he said. 

The committee Chairman urged the DG of the bureau to continue to take the bureau to the next level of development.

Earlier, Dr. Yakubu Ahmed Ubangari, the Director General of the bureau appreciated the committee and Gov. Abdullahi Sule for prioritising the activities of the Bureau.

” We want to appreciate you for supporting our activities to succeed.

” We also want to thank His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule for funding the Bureau

“By God’s grace, I will continue to do my best in taking the Bureau to the next level of development” he said 

The Director General of the Bureau also assured of good working relationship with the House for the overall development of the Bureau.

In a related development, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Capital Market, Commerce and Industry, has stepped down the budget assessment of the State Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment for a later date for presenting a vague documents.

The Chairman of the Committee, Mr Ibrahim Sa’ad stepped down the budget when the management of the ministry appeared before the committee on its 2024 budget performance on Tuesday in Lafia.

He said that the committee decided to invite the ministry in order to assess its 2024 budget for the first quarter.

” Mr Speaker, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau has directed us to embark on oversight, hence the need for this exercise

” As the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has empowered the House to oversight the activities of MDAs,” he said 

” The committee is not too satisfied with your presentations, your documents are not properly submitted or organized hence the exercise be stepped down “he added. 

The committee chairman noted that the modern markets in Awe, Nasarawa, Toto and Wamba awarded in 2022 to be completed within 4 months are still at different stages of completion due to non releases of funds. 

Sa’ad disclosed that the committee would visit market sites across the state in order to  ascertain the level of work
