The Management of Homadil Reality, a Real Estate firm has raised alarm over unwarranted intimidation, harassment and violation of human rights of their Proprietress,Mrs Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac also known as Hajiya Bilikisu Ishaqu Aliu and family by some disgruntled officers of the EFCC.

Mr Christian Omeke, Director, Public Relations of the organization disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Friday.

Omeke warned against the misconduct of EFCC having abused the powers by exposing Omokamo Godwin-Isaac family to danger and insecurity.

According to him, EFCC is becoming unruly and oppressive in the discharge of their duties and I can recall how they brutalized a lady recently in hotel room

He condemned vehemently the involvement of EFCC In a civil matter that is not only pending in court but devoid of alleged corruption.

“EFCC is operating outside their purview because by consistently harassing my Proprietress and her family even exposing them to kidnappers with public declaration of their bank statements.

“On June 12, the operatives of the EFCC came to the property which I took possession of in the last three years at about 10am and arrested over 25 persons and violated the properties in the house leaving the whole house unattended and exposed.

“They have flagrantly infringed on their rights by making bail conditions elusive. I urge them to do the right thing by charging them to court instead of detaining them beyond the constitutional time frame.

“It beats our imagination that the publication in issue was done only a day before the attack and it speaks volumes even though we try not to believe that the EFCC is acting on the instructions of the sponsor of publications,” he said.

Omeke wondered why EFCC could intimidate unarmed staff of their company with guns thereby causing psychological trauma and humiliation for them.

The Director of Public Relations, who restated his condemnation of miscarriage of justice and harassment by EFCC, disclosed that some members of staff and family of their Proprietress had been consistently harassed by over zealous EFCC officials.

Omeke declared as unprofessional and unethical of EFCC to Expose the personal financial details and family of Mrs. Rebecca to the whole world which leaves much to be desired.

Omeke who described Mrs Omokamo Godwin Isaac as an astute business woman with proven integrity and pedigree, said the libellous publication was designed to tarnish her hard earned image.

The Director of Public Relations urged the general public to disregard the malicious publication describing it as calumnious.

“We wish to address the recent online publication that seeks to tarnish the reputation of Mrs. Rebecca Omokamo Godwin Isaac.

“The article in question contains numerous inaccuracies and misleading statements that necessitate a comprehensive clarification,” he said.

Omeke said that it is essential to present the facts and legal realities surrounding this matter to dispel any misinformation and protect the integrity of the individuals involved.

Omeke expressed dissatisfaction with the attempt by Yesufu and co-travellers to tarnish the good image of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetekun.

He warned them and their sponsors to desist from acts capable of causing blackmail or scandalous on innocent and  reputable persons like the IG.

“No court order was served to the Police by anyone not to talk of IG stopping them from carrying out duties.

“Instead Mrs Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac was the person that went to court against them believing in the capacity of the court to broker peace.”

He explained that the land in question Plot 4022 Guzape District Abuja was obtained through legitimate means by Mrs. Rebecca Omokamo Godwin Isaac.

“This acquisition was conducted with full compliance with all legal requirements and processes.

“The documents have been scrutinized and authenticated by the appropriate authorities, leaving no room for doubt regarding the legitimacy of the acquisition.”

He noted that Mrs. Rebecca has always prioritized transparency and legality in her dealings.

According to him, the thorough documentation process followed is a testament to her commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and legality in all business transactions.

Omeke affirmed judicial proceedings aimed at settling disputes surrounding the land.

“It is important to state that the dispute is before a Court of competent Jurisdiction and the Yesufu family, who have laid claims to the land, were invited to present their case in the Court of law.

“This opportunity was extended to ensure that their claims could be heard and evaluated in a fair and impartial manner.

“During these proceedings and up till date, the Yesufu family has been unwilling to provide any evidence to substantiate their ownership claims.

Omeke clarified that the brouhaha began when Yesufu and co-travellers encroached into Mrs Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac’s site to disrupt her three months ongoing building project.

The Director of Public Relations said that Mrs Godwin-Isaac as a law abiding citizen of Nigeria having faith in the judicial process sought redress in the court.

“They have refused to file any process before the Honourable Court and have preferred a media trial instead.”

While condemning the role of the EFCC in the case, Omeke said that Upon the inability of Yesufu and co-travellers to contest the case in Court and in its bid to continue currying for favours, the Yesufu family in defiance to the subsisting matter filed a petition to the EFCC despite the pendency of the suit.

He said that Civil matters are best handled by the appropriate civil courts, recognizing this, the Court in one of the pending cases issued a restraining order against the EFCC, preventing it from further involvement in the case.

He said “This order was necessary to ensure that the legal boundaries were respected and that the correct legal channels were followed.”

The Director of Public Relations described as laughable and false Allegations of complicity and bias against the Police.

He explained that the police is not and has never been a party to the suit between the parties and no Court Order was served or could have been served on them in the circumstance.

Omeke however said that Mrs. Rebecca, has consistently demonstrated her unwavering commitment to the rule of law, throughout this entire process with unwavering adherence to all legal requirements and have respected the court’s authority to decide the issues submitted for adjudication.

“Her actions reflect a deep respect for the judicial system and a steadfast belief in the principles of justice and fairness.

“The allegations of impropriety and land-grabbing are entirely unfounded and seek to undermine her reputation and others involved without any substantive basis.

“These individuals have built their careers and lives on the foundation of integrity and ethical conduct.

“Their commitment to following due legal processes and their respect for the rule of law are evident in every aspect of their actions related to this matter.”

Omeke therefore reiterated his call on the public to disregard the libellous publication and urge them to view this situation in the light of the facts and pending cases in Court.

He reiterated the imperatives of recognizing the legitimacy of the judicial process.

According to him, the facts of the case, the thorough documentation, the Court proceedings, all converge to validate Mrs. Rebecca’s ownership and to discredit the baseless allegations made against her and her husband.
