The remains of late Dr Jummai Agara, wife of Hon. Silas Agara, former Nasarawa state Deputy Governor were committed to mother earth amidst tears, eulogies and excitement for leaving a life worthy of approximation at her Akwanga country home recently.
Family members, colleagues and other sympathizers who came to pay their last respect to the deceased described her as a humble, dedicated, caring mother, hard-working woman who committed her life to the service of God and humanity.
Governor Abdullahi Sule was among those who paid his last respects to the deceased.
The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe extolled the virtue of late Doctor Jummai Agara and commiserated with the family, on behalf the good people of Nasarawa and prayed for the repose of her soul.
Sen. Umaru Al-Makura, Former governor of the state also prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased soul and for her family to take heart and be glad that she is with the Almighty God.
Also speaking, Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic, Doctor Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata hailed the unique life and times of the deceased, believing that she was a wonderful and powerful woman of consequence.
The Rector who spoke through the Deputy Rector (Academic) Mr Louis John Ogah said the deceased was among the pioneer staff of the Department of General Studies, a former Head, Social Development Department, who has served meritoriously and diligently to the development of the Polytechnic.
The Deputy Rector was accompanied by the Registrar, Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, IMAP Chapter, H.O.D. Social Development among other members of the Polytechnic Community.
In a vote of thanks, the deceased’s husband, a former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Silas Ali Agara, in a heart- rendingly touching voice, expressed profound appreciations to the Governor Abdullahi Sule and other distinguished personalities who came to grace the funeral service, maintaining that his wife was a woman of distinguished standings.
