Member representing Keffi East constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. John Ovey has donated transformer worths N15 million to the people of his constituency.
This, he said was to boost power supply in order to improve on the socio-economic activities of the people of his constituency.
Hon. Ovey, the Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources while commissioning the transformer today in Keffi sympathized with the people in the affected areas for staying for more than one year in darkness.
” I want to sympathize with you for staying in darkness without light for more than one year.
” I want to assure you of my commitment to provide the much needed dividends of democracy to you.
” All what I am doing is to change on your standard of living positively,” he said
The lawmaker promised to continue to response to the yearning and aspirations of his constituents by providing more people oriented projects that will impact positively on the lives of his people.
Hon. Ovey (PDP Keffi East) appreciated the Emir of Keffi, stakeholders, party officials and members and the entire people of his constituency for supporting him to succeed and promised not to let them down.
” I am for all irrespective of party, religious or ethnicity. I am your servant and I promise to serve you equally.
” What I need is your prayers and support so that I can do more,” he said
Also speaking, member representing Udege/Loko constituency at the State Assembly, Hon. David Inarigu Onah Kana commended the lawmaker for donating the transformer and executing people oriented projects in his constituency.

Also speaking, Chairman, People Democratic Party (PDP) Keffi Local Government Area, Mr Aliyu Babayo commended the member for coming to the aid of the people of Ungwan Rimi, Ungwan Eggon Keffi, Ungwan Rama and their environs, who have been living in darkness for more than one year due to lack of electricity.
” It is now that we know democracy is in place. Hon Ovey is a good leader, he is representing his people well. Apart from this transformer he commissioned today there are a lot of developmental projects he provided to his constituents such as boreholes, palliative among others.
“We are PDP and will continue to be PDP, we commend and urge him to do more, our support is with him beyond 2027” he said.
He called on the people to continue to support Hon. Ovey so that he can fulfill all of his campaign promises to the people.
On his part, the PDP State Youth Leader, Hon. Sani Muhammad Keffi, commended the lawmaker for his efforts in providing dividends of democracy to the people of his constituency.
” PDP is a party that believe in welfare, that is exactly what Hon. Ovey is doing” he said.
He urged PDP members in the state to be law abiding by conducting themselves in an orderly manner in the face of the ongoing national protest against hunger in the land.
Alhaji Sule Nasidi, PDP elder appreciated the member for the gesture and called on the people of his constituency to support him beyond 2027.
