Stakeholders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Doma South constituency have backed the zoning formula for the Chairmanship position of Doma Local Government Area ahead of scheduled Nov. 2nd, Local Government Election in Nasarawa State.

This, the stakeholders said, if implemented would promote unity and peace in the area.

Hon. Musa Ibrahim Abubakar, member representing Doma South Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly stated this while briefing newsmen after the meeting of APC stakeholders of Doma South Constituency today in Lafia.

Hon. Abubakar, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs said that power sharing would promote unity, peace and harmony in the society.

” First and foremost, we want to thank His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and the ruling APC for all inclusive leadership in the state.

” We also want to thank His Excellency, the State Deputy Governor, Dr . Emmanuel Akabe for his wisdom in supporting zoning formula of Chairmanship position of Doma Local Government Area.

” As this will promote unity, peace and will reduce tension among the people ahead of the Nov. 2nd local government election in the state.

” We are also in complete support of the zoning formula as agreed by APC stakeholders during yesterday’s meeting with the Deputy Governor” he said.

Hon. Musa said that Doma South Constituency would ever remain grateful to the Deputy Governor for the zoning formula arrangement.

” We want to thank His Excellency again for his efforts and logic to endorse zoning formula in Doma Local Government Area” he said.

The lawmaker used the medium to appeal to aspirants and other stakeholders to support the zoning formula as agreed in yesterday’s meeting.

“Supporting zoning formula will promote democracy at the grassroots” he said.

“This will give room for power sharing of the LG Chief Executive not to be centralized but rotational between the people of Doma North and Doma South or between Doma A, B and C zones as the case may be”

Hon. Musa assured Gov. Sule of his people’s resolved to continue to support his administration to succeed.

It would be reported that those in attendance during the meeting included Hon. Anthony Obande, former member representing Doma South Constituency at the State Assembly, Mr Gabriel Agbashi, Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (AUSS) Nasarawa State among others.
