“… hails Gov. Sule on hostel accommodations, other infrastructural development in the institution…”
………… While at the TSC, the House appeals to Gov. Sule to employ more secondary school teachers.
Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for the ongoing construction of hostel accommodations at Isa Mustapha Agwai 1 Polytechnic (IMAP) , Lafia.
The House also appreciated Gov. Sule for prioritizing Polytechnic education in the State and ensuring infrastructural development in tertiary institutions.
Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, the Chairman House Committee on Education gave the commendation when the committee visited Isa Mustapha Agwai 1 Polytechnic, Lafia today Tuesday.
Hon. Abel said that the construction of the hostel accommodations would go a long way in boosting students wellbeing, provide conducive learning environment and enhance standard of education in the institution.
The Lawmaker expressed happiness with the Rector and his management team for being up and doing in greatly improve on the revenue base of the institution as well as achieving academic excellence.
” I want to commend our able Governor, Engr. A A Sule for his efforts in promoting Polytechnic Education in the State.
” I also want to commend the Governor for the construction of hostel accommodations and other infrastructural projects in the institution” he said .
“I want to also appreciate what the Rector is doing by turning around academic activities to the maximum standards and improving on the revenue base of the school and I urge you to keep it up” He said.
Hon. Abel also commended the management of the Polytechnic for being up and doing to ensure improve standard of education in the institution.
While at the office of the State Teachers’ Service Commission TSC the legislator appreciated Gov. Sule for recruiting secondary school teachers in the State.
The committee Chairman however appealed to Gov. Sule to employ more teachers into secondary schools to overcome shortages of teachers in the State.
” We want to appeal to His Excellency, Engr. A A Sule to increase the number of secondary school teachers in the state.
” This is based on our discoveries that secondary schools in the state are under staffed
” It is our hope that His Excellency who has passion and zeal for education sector and by God’s grace, he will do something in that regards” he said.
Hon. Abel assured them of the committee’s readiness to continue to support them to succeed.
He said that the committee would not leave any stone unturned to ensure that quality education are provided in the state.
Earlier, Dr Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata, the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic appreciated the committee for the support they are enjoying from them and called for is sustenance.
” We are grateful to what you have been doing to us. We want to appreciate you for your support at all times” he said.
The Acting Rector, also commended Gov Sule for prioritising the activities of the institution.
He, however, enumerated hike in electricity tarriff, funding among others are some of the challenges facing the institution.
On his part, Alhaji Abubakar Gada Mohammed, Executive Chairman, TSC thanked Gov. Sule and the House for making it possible for the recruitment of secondary school teachers in the State.
” We are grateful to His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and the House for the support the commission is getting from you” he said.
He assured of the commission’s readiness to live above board while discharging its duties.
It would be reported that the committee inspected site for the construction of hotel accommodation in the Polytechnic.
It would also be reported that at the TSC, the Chairman appealed for provision of operational vehicles, the request the House promised to tackle.
