Ayudantes Empowerment Initiative (AEI), an advocacy group, has called on Nigerians to support the military in its efforts to rid the country of threats to the security of life and property.
Executive Director of AEI, Amechi Oyema, made the call on Thursday at a Peace, Unity and Development Rally at Dei Dei and Zuba Motor Parks in the Federal Capital Territory.
Oyema noted that the Nigerian troops had been relentless on all fronts to ensure peace in the country, adding that news from the battle fronts was encouraging and cheering.
According to him, the military is winning the war.
Oyema recalled that some journalists, who visited the theatres of operations, attested to the operational successes of the military.
He said that crude oil thieves operating in the South-South were being dealt with as evident in the recent rise in Nigeria’s daily crude oil production, attested to by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
“The troops are also having victory over IPOB and other criminal tendencies that make the zone dreadful.
“We want to commend the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Chris Musa, for making it possible for members of the fourth realm to have a direct feeling of what is happening in the various theatres of operations.
“We are here this afternoon to continue to sensitise you on the advantages of having a peaceful country.
“You cannot do your business if we allow evil people to overrun our country. If you are not doing your business, how can you fend for your family?
“If the country is in disarray, it will affect every one of us because the evil people plan to destabilise us.
“As the year comes to an end, AEI appeals to Nigerians to eschew all forms of evil tendencies.
“For all those who do not want us to have peace, our troops will sniff you out of your hiding place. No matter how long it takes. This is why you must repent and change your ways,’’ he said. (NAN)
