Mrs Ijeoma Agbanusi, Director, National Orientation Agency, FCT Directorate has called on Nigerians to support the tax reform of President Bola Tinubu to attract prosperity and better life for all.

Agbanusi made the appeal during a ‘Road Show’ organised the agency to sensitise Abuja residents, on Thursday in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ‘Road Show’ took participants from FCDA in  Garki Area 11 to Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation at Federal Secretariate.

According to Agbanusi, the ‘Road Show’ signifies the end of the campaign on World HIV/AIDS Day, World Human Rights Day, Discouraging Get Rich Quick Syndrome, Security Consciousness and the Tax Reform bill.

“We started with Media Conference, then Stakeholders engagement/town hall meeting and today, we are concluding with a ‘Road show’.

“The Tinubu tax reform is a good one. Before now, taxes are collected and nothing to show for it.

“Also, there are multiple taxations negatively affecting business and the economy sector of the country and the President wants to ensure that those issues are addressed to encourage businesses to grow.

“There are some countries that live only on taxes, because they don’t have the natural resources, but here we have natural resources and nothing to show about it.

“So, if they get the tax reform bill through and we have a well defined tax system, things will change for the better, low income earners would be exempted.

“I called on each and everyone of us to support the tax reform of Tinubu. It will bring prosperity and sanity in the economy sector of the country,” Agbanusi said.

The NOA director also stated that there had been a lot of allegations of fraud in the tax system, hence the reform had become a necessity to addressing the challenges.
