Member representing Obi 1 Constituency, at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Peter Akwe (PDP) has distributed wrappers, yards, food items and a car to members of his constituency.
The Lawmaker also commissioned and donated a building as a gift to Customary Court in his constituency.
The occasion took place today Monday in Tudun Adabu and Obi respectively.
The Lawmaker said the gesture was his tradition of giving back to his people at a festive season to enable them celebrate with joy.
While distributing the clothes, food items and the car in Obi, Hon. Akwe appreciated his people for the mandate they gave him stressing that he will not fail them.
“I find it necessary to support my people with the little I have so as to put smile in their faces.
“It is Christmas time and there is hardship in the country, people are finding it difficult to survive, any little support will touch their lives positively.
“Since I was elected, i have been doing this at both Sallah and Christmas” He said.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries in Obi, Chairman Sunny Boys Group, Nicodemus Enokela thanked the lawmaker for supporting them at the time of their need and pray for him to continue to succeed in all his future endeavors.
He assured him of their continues support beyond 2027.
Meanwhile, in Tudun Adabu Hon. Peter said he was moved to build the court and donate it to the judiciary as according to him since the siting of the Customary Court in Tudun Adabu, it has been operating from a residential house.
“Judiciary is an independent arm of government, as such it need to operate independently without interference, which was why I deem it necessary to build and donate the building for them” he added.
He called on the people of the community to take ownership of the building by ensuring proper maintainance of the building for the purpose of administration of justice.
“I started this building from the scratch up to the finishing and I spent Nine Million Naira to finished the work” he said.
“This court is to serve both PDP, APC, APGA, Christians and Muslims alike and all tribes in the area”
He used the occasion to appealed to the people of the state to continue to pray for peace, unity and development.
The Lawmaker revealed that in all he spent over and above N27. 5Million for the day program.
All those who spoke during the occasion both at Tudun Adabu and Obi appreciated him for his giant strides and kindness saying the gesture will go a long way in touching the lives of the people positively.
They described the member as a leader with good heart and asked him to recontest in 2027.
The representative of the Chief George and the presiding George of the Court, Barrister Enoch Bawa appreciated the member for the wonderful gesture, saying that it will help in dispensation of justice in the area.
In another development, the lawmaker also commissioned his new one story residential building in Obi.
Commissioning the house, Reverend Samuel Ishipishi while reading from the book of Zabura enjoined people to always seek protection against evil from God not human being.
Dignitaries in attendance included Chairman People Democratic Party (PDP), Obi Local Government Area, Ibrahim Alhassan, former, PDP National Vice Chairman, Yusif Ayitogo, former Chairman Obi Local Government, Shuaibu Abdullahi among others.
Hon. Peter Akwe and his entourage were also at the palace of Osuko of Obi to paid him royal Homage.
