…………. At the event, the Deputy Speaker bags Award of Sport Ambassador of the year 2024 while Nasarawa Deputy Gov. Dr. Akabe hails the Deputy Speaker for promoting peace and unity in Doma LGA via football.
The Deputy Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Adamu Oyanki, Member representing Doma North Constituency, has organized football competition in order to promote unity and peace among the youths of the constituency.
The Deputy Speaker’s Peace and Unity Football Competition which finals was held today Wednesday ended 5-3 in favour of FC Oyanki against Matawalle FC.
The football match took place today at the Doma Central Field play Ground between FC Matawalle and Oyanki FC.
It would be reported that Sixteen clubs have participated in the unity football competition that was aimed at achieving peace and unity among the people of Doma Doma Local Government as a whole.
The Deputy Speaker congratulated the winners and all the clubs that have participated in the game while urging them to keep the spirit of love, unity and peaceful coexistence alive.
According to him, The first edition of the tournament begin with One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira, now I have increased it to Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira, next year is going to be Five Hundred Thousand Naira by the grace of God.
He said the purpose of organizing the competition is to bring the people of his constituency together as well as promote peace and unity among his people.
” I want to thank the people of my constituency for supporting me.
“This unity and peace football competition is in fulfilment of my campaign promised to unite my people in love and understanding.
” This is the third year of the competition and it will continue. It brings the people together irrespective of their affiliations.
While responding to calls for him to recontest in 2027, the Deputy Speaker appreciated those who are making the calls and said when the time comes he will respond appropriately.
The Deputy Speaker said he is more concerned on delivery on his campaign promises made to his constituents of providing them with dividends of democracy.
” We were able to purchased a transformer and installed for the benefit of our people.
” We renovated schools, hospitals, among many others and soon more projects are going to be commissioned for the overall development of Doma LGA” He said.
On his part, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, the Acting Governor of the state appreciated the Deputy Speaker for organizing the competition towards promoting unity and peace in the area.
Akabe, who was represented by a retired Deputy Comptroller of Custom, Mr Joseph Attah, assured of his contributions to support whatever that will bring peace, unity and development to the area.
On the calls from the people for the Comptroller to contest for House of Representative in 2027, Joseph Attah said if that is the wishes of the people, he will not say no to their calls.
He also made donation to support the competition.
It would be reported that the winner of the competition went home with trophy and cash donation of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira while the second position got One Hundred Thousand Naira.
In another development, the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Muhammad Adamu Oyanki was presented with the award of Sport Ambassador of the year 2024 by Millennium Association, Doma LGA.
While presenting the award on behalf of the association, Joseph Attah said, the award is in recognition of the Deputy Speaker’s contributions to sports development as well as his outstanding performance at the assembly.
The occasion had in attendance the Sardauna Doma, Alhaji Musa Oye, who represented His Royal Highness, the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo, Professor Ibrahim Hassan Ojiri of Federal University of Lafia, Retired Deputy Comptroller of Custom, Mr Joseph Attah, Acting Clark of the State Assembly, Mr Ibrahim Musa among others.
