“•••••• Decries non Govt presence since it’s establishment in 1981•••••
Government Secondary School Old Student Association ( ALOSA) , has appealed to Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State to construct classrooms and provide modern facilities at Government Secondary School Aloce.
This, the association said is to restore the lost glory of the school by improving its standard of education.
Rev. Fr, Lawrence Soja Anyembugu, the Chairman of the AlOSA made the appeal during it’s First Maiden General Meeting/ Get Together / Media tour to the school on Tuesday in Nassarawa Eggon LGA.
He said that almost all structures in the school were built by Parent Teachers Association since it’s establishment in 1981.
” We are here as Old students of this school and to see things for ourselves.
” We went round and we saw. it is unfortunate that the school is dilapidated.
” I want to appeal to his Excellency , Engr. A A Sule to come to the aid of the school by constructing classrooms and providing necessary facilities in the school.
” This is to create an enabling environment for teaching and learning in order to ensure improved standard of education,” he said
The man of God also appealed to Old students of the school and other well wishers to contribute positively to the development of the school.
” I want to appeal to the old students of the school and other well to do individuals to contribute their quota to the development of the school by giving back to the school what the school has made us,” he said.
The Chairman of ALOSA assured of their readiness to initiate projects that would have direct bearing on the lives of the students and staff of the school.
On her part, the Vice Principal of the School, Mrs Hannatu Victor Manga appreciated the members of the association for the visit and for having the interest of the school at their hearts.
She also called on the members of the association to contribute meaningful to the development of the school.
Chief Adams Makka Nangba, the District Head of Wakama while inaugurating the Interim Committee of the association urged the members of the association not to relent in their efforts toward the development of the school.
He also assured of his commitment to render his support to the development of the school
On his part, Hon Alex Nangba, the Chairman, Parent Teachers Association ( PTA) of the school also appealed to the state government to construct classrooms and provide chairs in the school.
He said that the PTA body has done it best in putting structures in the school.
Nangba also thanked members of the association for their visit and prayed God to bless them abundantly.
