Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi, member representing Kokona East Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has organized a Peace and Unity Football Competition in order to promote unity and peace among the youths and other people of the constituency.
This, he said the game which was in its forth series is tackling youths restiveness and discovering hidden talents among them.
Hon. Ogazi, the Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business made this known during the Grand Finale of his 4th Edition of Hon Ogazi Unity Cup in Garaku, Kokona LGA today.
It would be reported that the football competition started on 5th December, 2024 and 11 teams across the five electoral wards in his constituency participated.
Hon. Ogazi said that he also organized the competition in order to enable the youths discover their hidden talents.
” The purpose of this football competition is to ensure that there is unity and peace within my constituency. I want to ensure that I unite the youths and other people of my constituency.
” The competition is also organized to stop the youths of my constituency from engaging in social vices, especially during this yuletide.
He urged the youths to always remain united and be peaceful for the overall development of the constituency.
Besides, Hon. Ogazi disclosed that there would be Carnival in Garaku Thursday in order to foster unity and peace in the area.
” All I want is unity, unity, unity all as no society would achieved meaningful development without unity and peace,” Hon Ogazi added.
It would be reported that the players appreciated Hon Ogazi for always having the interest of his people at heart especially the youths.
They called on the people of the constituency to continue to support Ogazi to succeed.
It would also be reported that the Grand finale ended 1:1 where Haderi FC defeated Maisauri FC 4:3 in a penalty shoot out.
It would also be reported that the competition featured awards of different prizes to players and teams that distinguished themselves where Hadari FC who came 1st position got N300,000 while Maisauri FC came 2nd with N200,000 and the Poka Junior FC emerged who emerged 3rd position went home with N150, 000 in that order.
Those in attendance at the grand finale include, the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, HRH, Lawrence Sylvester Ayih, the Abaga Toni, Hon. Mohammed Garba Isimbabi, Hon. Musa Saidu Gude, Hon. Aliyu Yusuf Chunbaya and Hon. Peter Ibrahim Akwe,
Othere were, the Former Chairman of Kokona LG, Hon. Auwal Adamu, former Chairman of Karu, Hon James Thomas, Hon Baba Shehu, former Chairman of Keffi, Hon. Samuel Akala, among other politicians, traditional rulers and well wishers.
All the participating teams also went home with Jessy sets and other prices.
