The newly elected Chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Aloba Isaac, has pledged to focus on empowering members of the association during his tenure.
Isaac made this commitment on Thursday in Abuja, during his acceptance speech after the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections, where the newly elected executive will manage the association’s affairs until 2028.
He emphasised his administration’s determination to empower members physically, mentally, and financially, while also prioritising capacity building.
In his address, Isaac outlined that the newly elected executive included the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and Internal Auditor, with a by-election for other positions set to be conducted within the next four months.
He also stated that his administration would explore the association’s financial resources to assist members in need of loan support, ensuring that only qualified members would benefit.
Isaac expressed his intent to foster teamwork within the association, recognising the importance of identifying strengths and weaknesses to leverage opportunities for the benefit of members.
He stated, “Once you have all these in mind, you are bound to succeed.”
He also stressed the importance of prioritising the welfare of pharmacists, stating that without empowering members, it would be difficult to make a positive impact on society.
“Our administration will also be one of inclusiveness, where transparency will be prioritised, and members will see how their annual dues are being utilised.
“There will be a lot of advocacy and efforts to push the association forward,” he said.
Isaac, a student of leadership and management, expressed confidence that his focus on teamwork would build a strong foundation for the association.
He also emphasised the need to establish strong, cordial relationships with regulatory bodies such as the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, NAFDAC, and NDLEA to ensure their continued support for the association’s initiatives.
The immediate past Chairman of the association, Mr Enejoh Amade, shared his experiences from his tenure, urging the new Chairman to continue the efforts of the previous administration.
In spite of facing challenges, Amade highlighted the successes achieved during his time in office and wished Isaac success in leading the association forward.
